Dora was found wandering the streets in Anchorage in March 2010
She had a lot of health issues. ear infection, horrible infection in her mouth as well as mild kidney disease.
And after spending almost a year in her foster home...she is finally healthy and will be going to her new "forever home" on Friday!!! YAY!!!! a wonderful family is adopting Dora!!!

"Sweet Mira" 1993- 12/15/08
Sweet Mira (15 yrs old)...she was such a bright-spirited & happy
little soul & we loved her so much. She always had a little smile on
her sweet snaggle-toothed lips. I am so happy to have known & loved
her and that fate brought her to us so that we could be with her for
the last year of her life
My only wish is that I could somehow convey to people who give up
their senior dogs to rescue, how difficult it is to find a home for a senior dog
when there are so many young dogs & puppies looking for homes.
.
I make a point to tell "adoptors" that "adopting a dog is a 15+ year
COMMITMENT" It is
always my hope that with that one line...the weight of the commitment
they are making can be conveyed.
Thank You IGCA Rescue..for being so
generous helping the seniors!!
And to all of you who generously donated & bid to help with
fundraising for Mira's transport, dental surgery last year & her vet
bills, & continuing hospice care. After being abandoned into rescue in her
golden years...You all helped us make Mira's last year on earth the
absolute best we could give her.
RUN FREE sweet Mira...we will be looking for you at the bridge
someday...

I woke up from a dream The wind was blowing I am falling now I wait in a cage and years pass me by no love to keep me safe if I could only fly away from here to gentle arms and voice I'd be your forever friend but I don't have that choice someday I'll lay my bones down here and hope then you'll hear my voice....
